ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday arrested a man who reportedly attacked a woman inside a food store on Bowleys Lane, and broke the window of another woman's car parked outside in an attempt to steal her purse. Police said Lolita Perry, of the 4300 block of Brehms Lane, was about to enter Hobbitt's, a food market in the 4500 block of Bowleys Lane, about 6 p.m. when she was attacked for no apparent reason by a man who attempted to strike her. Police said while Perry was in the store, the same man attacked her again by spraying her in the face with a chemical irritant used for self protection. Police said the man then ran onto the parking lot after removing a snow shovel from a display. On the lot, the man broke the window of a car and was attempting to reach inside and steal a woman's purse when he was arrested by police. Police said John Lee Graves, 28, of the 5400 block of Raintree Way, was charged with assault, shoplifting and malicious destruction of property. Police said Graves was held overnight at the Eastern District lockup pending a bail hearing before a District Court commissioner.
SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- Police arrested two men yesterday in connection with the shooting of a teen-ager during an incident in the 1600 block of Veney Court in the Hollander Ridge public housing complex. Police said Elton Foreman, 17, of the 4400 block of Plainfield Ave., was in Veney Court shortly after 8 p.m. yesterday when he was attacked by two men, one armed with a handgun. Police said the gunman fired at least two shots at Foreman, hitting him in the arm and buttocks. Police said Foreman was taken to Francis Scott Key Medical Center, where he was listed today in good condition. Arrested and charged with assault with intent to murder and using a handgun in the commission of a felony were Darrell Redmond, 22, of the 400 block of Lakeview Ave., and Victory Curry, 24, of the 1700 block of Jack Fisher Court in Hollander Ridge. Police said the gun used in the shooting was not recovered.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 2700 block of Fenwick Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment through a basement door and removed a 25-inch TV. Police said the break-in occurred between Tuesday and yesterday and that the property was valued at $300.
ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police yesterday entered McCroy's department store in the 5400 block of Harford Road and arrested a youth who attempted to leave the store without paying for food items. Police said the youth was charged as a juvenile with theft and later released in the custody of his parents. Police said the youth was stopped by a store security officer who detained him prior to the arrival of district police.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property was removed from a dwelling in the 6900 block of Harford Road after someone gained entry by opening a second-floor window. Police said cash and other items were taken.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Employees of the Bi-Rite food market in the 6800 block of Harford Road reported that a man in his late 20s or early 30s ran out of the store yesterday afternoon after removing several boxes of frozen shrimp from a freezer. Police said the shrimp was valued at $100.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 3200 block of Ramona Ave. told police that someone gained entry into his apartment with a key and removed a clothes dryer. Police said the appliance was valued at $300.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Frank Monaldi, of the 4100 block of White Ave., reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 3700 block of Sinclair Lane yesterday and removed two stereo speakers and a stereo booster. Police said the property was valued at nearly $200. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that property valued at nearly $1,300 was removed from a dwelling in the 3600 block of Lyndale Ave. after someone gained entry by breaking a pane of glass out of a rear door. Police said the intruder made off with a VCR, compact disc player and jewelry.
THEFT: Northeastern District -- Police responding to a shoplifting at Ames department store in the 2500 block of Belair Road yesterday arrested a 36-year-old man who attempted to leave the store without paying for several pieces of women's clothing. Police said the man was being held at the Eastern District pending theft charges.
ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Molly Golden, of the 4500 block of Harcourt Road, reported that during an argument with a man at her home yesterday she was cut on the right hand with a knife. Police said the man escaped and that Golden was treated for a laceration and released.
BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- A resident of the 1300 block of E. Belvedere Ave. reported that someone broke into his apartment and removed a short-wave radio from the bedroom. The victim told police the radio was valued at more than $200.
ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Veltina Howard, of the 6000 block of St. Regis Road, reported she was walking in the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave. around 6 p.m. yesterday when she was stopped by a man armed with a handgun who forced her to give up her purse. Police said the gunman escaped with cash and other property, all valued at more than $70.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Jan Darrah, of the 100 block of E. Eager St., reported she was walking in the 2000 block of N. Charles St. around 8:30 p.m. yesterday when she was accosted by two men, one wearing a stocking mask over his face, who forced her to give up her wallet. Police said the men fled with about $25.
THEFT: Central District -- Francis Scheffonaker, of the 9300 block of Kilimanjaro Road in Columbia, Howard County, reported that someone broke into his parked car in the 400 block of Park Ave. and removed nearly 50 cassette tapes and an assortment (( of tools. Police said the property was valued at nearly $600 and that entry was gained by breaking a window. Police said two men seen leaving the car shortly before the theft was discovered were being sought.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Rufus Sturdivant, of the 600 block of Brune St., reported he was walking in the 1000 block of Argyle Ave. early yesterday when he was stopped by a woman he knows who demanded he give up his money while pointing a knife at him. Police said Sturdivant gave up more than $100 to the woman who police said is known as "Rhoda."
ROBBERY: Central District -- Police reported that David Backhous, of the 200 block of W. Pleasant St., was walking near his home early Tuesday evening when he was stopped by two men, one armed with a knife, who robbed him of more than $200 and $90 in food stamps.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Employees of Payless Shoes in the first block of W. North Ave. reported a man forced one of them to give him the contents of the cash register while pointing a handgun at them. The employees told police that a man walked into the store around 11 a.m. yesterday and asked to see a pair of work boots. When one of the employees placed the boots on the counter near the cash register, the man pulled out a handgun and ordered one of them to open the cash register and give him the contents. Police said the gunman fled after being given less than $35.
ROBBERY: Central District -- Patriscya Duncan, of the 900 block of St. Paul St., told police she was in the 900 block of Hargrove St. around 10 p.m. Tuesday when she was stopped by a man who verbally threatened her and forced her to give up the two fur coats she was carrying. Police said the man escaped with the coats, valued at more than $11,000.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Angie White, of the 1100 block of N. Monroe St., reported she was in the 700 block of N. Monroe St. early yesterday when she was accosted by a man armed with a knife who demanded she give up her money. Police said White gave $40 to the man. Later, police arrested a 24-year-old resident of the 1300 block of Harlem Ave. in connection with the robbery and were holding him at the station pending armed assault and robbery charges.
ASSAULT: Western District -- Gwendolynn Dixon, of the 1700 block of Riggs Ave., reported that during an incident at her home around 9 a.m. yesterday she was assaulted by a man who also attempted to push her out a second-floor window. Later, police arrested Wilmer Stevens, 36, a resident of the Riggs Avenue address, and charged him with assault and attempted murder. Police said Stevens appeared yesterday before a District Court commissioner who ordered him held in lieu of $15,000 bail pending a bail review hearing before a District Court judge.
ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that Timothy Ammons, of the 2400 block of McCulloh St., was in the 1400 block of Retreat St. when he was assaulted by a man he knows who grabbed him around the neck and robbed him of $200. Police said a 24-year-old man is being sought in connection with the robbery.
BURGLARY: Northern District -- Police reported that property valued at more than $1,000 was removed from a dwelling in the 3000 block of Rosalind Ave. Police said a VCR and a TV were removed after the person gained entry through a first-floor window.

THEFT: Parkville District -- Helen Velte, of the 9800 block of Magledt Road, reported that over a period of four weeks someone entered her home and removed 70 U.S. savings bonds. Velte told police the bonds were valued at $3,500. Police investigating the theft said the house showed no signs of forced entry.
THEFT: Parkville District -- Police reported that someone entered a home in the 11600 block of Glen Arm Road between March 8 and March 12 and removed two diamond rings. The victim, Eleanor Kuchler, told police the rings, one 3.2 karats and the other 3/4 -karat, were valued at more than $11,000 and were removed from a bedroom dresser drawer.
Anne Arundel County
RAPE: Gambrills -- Police today are continuing to search for a man who entered a home on Annapolis Road and raped a woman at knifepoint. Police said the victim was home about 1 p.m. Monday when a man broke in through an unlocked rear door. Police said the man threatened to cut the woman with a knife then forced her to accompany him into a room, where he raped her and fled. Police said the woman reported the incident nearly an hour after the man fled and was taken to a hospital for treatment before being released.
ROBBERY: Brooklyn Park -- An attendant at the Crown service station on Md. 2 reported he was in the station office late Monday evening when a man wearing a yellow hooded sweat shirt entered and ordered him to remove money from the cash register and put it in a bag the robber had with him. After taking an undisclosed sum of cash, the man fled, running south on Md. 2.
BURGLARY: Millersville -- A resident of the 100 block of Hayden Road reported that someone broke into his home by forcing a door and removed several glass vases. Police said the value of the vases was not immediately known.
BURGLARY: Glen Burnie -- Police reported that someone broke into a dwelling in the 400 block of Glen Mar Drive by forcing a door and removed more than $100.
