William M. Metcalf, security officer at Harbor Hospital Center, died Sunday at the hospital of complications due to cancer. He was 64 and lived on Rockhill Avenue in the Violetville area.

Services for Mr. Metcalf were being held today at the Hubbard funeral establishment, 4107 Wilkens Ave.

Known as "Pete," Mr. Metcalf was an investigator for the hospital for about five years after seven years as an investigator for the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau.

He worked for the federal government for 20 years before that, briefly for the Internal Revenue Service, then as a Treasury agent.

He is survived by his wife, the former Annebel R. Madera; a brother, the Rev. Leslie G. Metcalf of Baltimore; and six sisters, Norma Hulsey and Gladys Sturgeon, both of Baltimore, Virginia Brushweiler and Nancy Cusic, both of Arbutus, Helen March of Saunderstown, R.I., and Shirley Pfister of Laurel.
