Baltimore County police today are continuing to seek two men who held up an Exxon gas station on Liberty Road early yesterday and handcuffed two employees to a restroom stall.

One wore a baseball cap and a salt-and-pepper tweed coat, police said. The other wore a black-knit ski mask and a dark and yellow-colored ski jacket, police said.

Both men were armed, one with a sawed-off shotgun and the other with a handgun, police said.

Police said the two confronted the employees about 6:34 a.m. at the Exxon in the 8000 block of Liberty Road and forced them back into the office area. They handcuffed one of the employees to a restroom stall and forced the other to open up the safe, police said. After that employee complied, he also was handcuffed to the stall.

The robbers fled with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

No one was injured during the holdup.

Sgt. David Jagodzinski said he did not know whether the holdup was connected to the recent surge of robberies of food stores and fast-food outlets and other businesses in the Baltimore area by groups of robbers armed with shotguns and semi-automatic weapons.
