Evert, Mill expecting child in October
Chris Evert, the former U.S. Open women's tennis champion, and her husband, Andy Mill, are expecting their first child in early October, the couple said in a statement issued by their office in Aspen, Colo., yesterday.
"Andy and I are thrilled. We've been looking forward to starting a family for some time," said Evert, 36.
The couple are currently at their residence in Aspen, where Mill -- a two-time U.S. Olympic skier -- is working as a television commentator on the World Cup.
Evert, who works as a television analyst on tennis, said she planned to work at least through July and then take time off to prepare for the baby.
Former Cy Young Award winner LaMarr Hoyt was charged Wednesday night with leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence after his new Corvette plowed into two pine trees about 8 p.m. near a Columbia, S.C. local high school, police said.
Hoyt, 36, registered a .22 on the Breathalyzer test, more than twice the .10 legal intoxication limit. Sloan also said officers searched Hoyt's vehicle and found a partially smoked marijuana cigarette. Hoyt was charged with possession of marijuana, according to jail records.
