SHOOTING: Northwestern District -- One man was shot in the left side in an aggravated assault in the 4700 block of Liberty Heights Ave. Police said three men -- Herbert Diggs, Robert Pace and William Campbell -- were accosted by two men who told the three they were suspects in a recent rash of robberies in the city and county. The three men consented to being searched for weapons; none was found. They then were told they could go. As the three men walked away, shots were fired, and Diggs was hit in the left side. He is in good condition at Sinai Hospital, police said.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- A woman who lives in the 4900 block of Denmore Ave. told police that a man who drove her home later took $355 from her apartment as she slept.

ROBBERY TRY: Northwestern District -- Margaret Roger, who lives in the 3900 block of W. Northern Parkway, refused to be cowed by a would-be robber in the 5500 block of Reisterstown Road, police said. Roger held tightly to her money as the man pushed and shoved her. He finally gave up and fled.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A lock on a garage in the 2800 block of Denison St. was broken, and property valued at $550 was removed.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Daniel Norwood, who lives in the 2500 block of Edgecombe Circle, was robbed of $190 at gunpoint by two men. The robbery occurred at 11:30 a.m. in the 5200 block of Park Heights Ave., police said.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Antonio Howard told police that $300 in cash was taken from his desk drawer in an office in the 3300 block of Holmes Ave.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Lamar Rice, of the 3000 block of Roslyn Ave., was pushed to the ground and robbed of a jacket valued at $140 as he walked in the 5200 block of Park Heights Ave., police said.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- A man pointed a handgun at Christopher Taylor in the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave., police said, and took $60 from him just before 3 p.m.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Property valued at $1,160 was taken from the trunk of a car parked in the 6700 block of Reisterstown Road, police said.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Ardell Lee, who lives in the 3300 block of W. Belvedere Ave., told police she was in the 3100 block of West Belvedere Ave. when someone ran up behind her and grabbed her purse, taking property and cash with a total value of $250.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- A woman entered Charlie Rudo's, a store at 326 Metro Plaza, and removed a jacket valued at $149, police said.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Police said that someone entered a bedroom of a house in the 4000 block of Maine Ave. and took property valued at $250.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Someone entered a bedroom a house in the 3400 block of Fairview Ave. and took property valued at $360, police said.

ASSAULT: Northwestern District -- Theresa Abrams told police she was alone in her apartment in the 3000 block of Thorndale Ave. when a man entered, pointed a sawed-off shotgun at her and demanded: "Where's the money?" Before she could say anything, the man left.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Anthony Jackson, who lives in the 600 block of Park Ave., was robbed at gunpoint in the 3400 block of Virginia Ave. Police said the robber took a wallet, gold chains and cash, all valued at $180.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Someone broke into a 1989 Ford parked in the 2800 block of Druid Park Drive and took a camera, shoulder bag and cash, all valued at $580, police said.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone entered a dwelling in the 2700 block of N. Howard St. and took a ring and watch valued at $308, police said.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man with a gun entered Metro Groceries, 701 McKewin Ave., just after 6 p.m. yesterday and demanded money. He fled with $145 from the cash register, police reported.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- Donald Harris told police he was pushed to the ground while walking in the 4600 block of York Road and that a man then took $60 out of his hand.

ASSAULT: Northeastern District -- Sherrie Rogers was in stable condition at Francis Scott Key Medical Center after being stabbed in the chest. Rogers was stabbed during a quarrel with a woman late Wednesday in the 2700 block of Fenwick Ave., police said.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A 12-year-old girl was pushed to the ground and robbed of her purse by another juvenile in the 1200 block of E. Cold Spring Lane, police reported.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Three men wearing hooded sweat shirts and carrying large revolvers entered the Pizz-A-Boli's in the 1700 block of E. Northern Parkway. They took $200 and fled, police reported.

SHOOTING: Northeastern District -- David Lopez, who lives in the 4800 block of Hamilton Ave., was driving in the 5100 block of Sinclair Lane when two men began shooting at him. Lopez was shot in the left side and left arm. Police said he is in good condition at Francis Scott Key Medical Center.

LARCENY/ARREST: Northeastern District -- Police said that Eric Jones, of the 6300 block of Pioneer Drive, was arrested on shoplifting charges at the 7-Eleven store in the 6000 block of Harford Road. Jones, who police said is in his 30s, was accused of taking two packets of Desert Storm cards.

THEFT: Northeastern District -- A 17-year-old student at Northern High School, 2201 Pinewood Ave., told police she took off three gold rings she was wearing and placed them on a table. The rings, valued at $600, were taken while she wasn't looking.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Four tires and four rims valued at $1,720 were taken from Al Packer Isuzu in the 5600 block of Belair Road, police said.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Police reported that a microwave valued at $250 was taken from a storage area in the 5700 block of Cedonia Avenue.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Someone cut the locks on the garage door at Kim's Chevron service station in the 2500 block of Irvin Ave. and took an air compressor and motor oil, police said. The value of the stolen property was put at $1,500.

LARCENY/AUTO: Northeastern District -- A stereo valued at $350 was removed from a Jeep parked in the rear lot of Al Packer Jeep-Eagle, 5800 block of Belair Road, police said.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A man entered the Maryland National Bank, in the 5300 block of Belair Road, and claimed to have a gun. Police said he fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

ATTACK: Northeastern District -- Police said a juvenile was arrested in the attempted stabbing with a pair of scissors of Robert Neubauer. The incident occurred at Mergenthaler Vocational-Technical High School, 3500 Hillen Road.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- Lisa Wells told police she was in the 5900 block of Daywalt Ave. when a man pointed a gun at her and instructed her to put her purse on the ground. She followed his instructions and the man picked up her purse and ran. Total value of stolen items was placed at $371.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- A woman who had been evicted from her home in the 5000 block of Truesdale Ave. told police that three men drove up in a green car and took her washing machine, which had been placed at curbside with other household possessions. The woman told police the washing machine was valued at $700.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into an apartment in the 5300 block of Carriage Court and took property valued at $1,500.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Marvin Burrell, who lives in the 2800 block of W. Lanvale St., was robbed of his leather coat at gunpoint while in the 700 block of Poplar Grove St., police said. Two men took the $350 coat from Burrell.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Police said that someone used a key to enter an apartment in the 5300 block of Carriage Court and took property valued at $310.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- Someone broke into the laundry room at the Carriage House Apartments, 131 North Bend Road, and took the coins from the coin-operated washers and dryers, police said.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Rosetta Parker, who lives in the 4300 block of Garrison Blvd., was in the 4600 block of Edmondson Ave. when she was threatened at knifepoint by a man who stole her purse, police said. Value of the purse and contents was placed at $1,206.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Melissa Alston, who lives in the first block of N. Abington St., was in the 3200 block of Lohrs Lane when her purse was grabbed. The robber took $340 in cash and property, police said.

SHOOTING: Western District -- Ronald Harris, of the 4300 block of Kennison Ave., was being held at the station in lieu of $25,000 bail after being arrested in connection with an assault on Antonio Butler, of the 1900 block of Ridgehill Ave., police said. Butler was shot in the wrist late Tuesday while in the 2000 block of N. Monroe St. However, he refused treatment for the injury.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Michael Wright, who lives in the 1500 block of N. Carey St., was robbed at gunpoint of $10 while in the 600 block of Baker St., police said.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Cheryl Thompson, who lives in the 2000 block of Reisterstown Road, was dragged from her car and beaten on the back with a stick by a man she apparently knows, police said.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men placed handguns to Perry McFadden's head and demanded his money while he was in the 2200 block of Bryant Ave. They took $80 from him, police said.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Police reported that a man with a .38-caliber handgun robbed Herman Conway of $50 in cash while Conway was in the 700 block of N. Mount St.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A television, stereo and other items valued at $300 were taken from a house in the 1900 block of Edmondson Ave., police said.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: North Point District -- A man wearing a multicolored rubber mask with an attached wig entered Didi's restaurant, 1709 Holaview Ave., and threatened owner Mohammed Abdul-Aziz with a sawed-off shotgun, police said. The man then took $200, all in $20 bills, police said.

ROBBERY: Towson District -- A man entered the Maryland National Bank at 8108 Loch Raven Blvd. and indicated he had a weapon, police said. A teller placed an undetermined amount of cash in a plastic bag, which the man took and fled.
