First and last starters to meet

SARASOTA, Fla. -- Bob Turley and Virgil Trucks, who were the starting pitchers in the first baseball game ever played at Memorial Stadium, are scheduled to meet today with the two pitchers expected to start the last opener.

Turley and the Orioles beat Trucks and the White Sox 3-1 in the 1954 opener. Those two are scheduled for a picture session here today with Ben McDonald and Jack McDowell, who will start today's exhibition and figure to face each other in the season opener April 8.

Turley and Trucks both live on the southwest coast of Florida and are expected to take part in the Orioles' elaborate plans for their last opener at Memorial Stadium.
