The Town Council passed amendments to subdivision regulations governing guarantees of public improvements in new residential subdivisions.

The council passed the measure at its monthly meeting Monday. The ordinance lays out four methods by which a developer can guarantee public improvements -- such as road, water and sewer facilities.

In other action Monday, the council:

* Sent a proposed tree preservation ordinance and amendments to town fencing regulations back to Town Planner Teresa Merten for more work;

* Confirmed appointments by Mayor Gerald R. Johnson to three town committees. The council approved James R. Lamadue as an alternate to the Board of Zoning Appeals; Susan Lutz to the Recycling and Sanitation Commission; and SouthCarroll High School junior Scott Pickett as non-voting student member to the recycling commission.
