BREAK-IN: Northwestern District -- Thieves took tools valued at more than $6,000 from the Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. in the 4200 block of Mortimer Ave. after cutting a lock on a gate late Monday or early yesterday.

LARCENY: Northwestern District -- Annie M. Resse told police that a refrigerator valued at $500 was taken from an apartment in the 3900 block of Garrison Blvd.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Keith Smith, who lives in the 4400 block of Daytona Ave., was walking in the 3300 block of Towanda Ave. about 3:30 p.m. yesterday when two men, one with a handgun, accosted and robbed him of about $80.

ROBBERY: Northwestern District -- Chante Kelly was in the 3300 block of Bateman Ave. about 3:55 p.m. when a man approached her from behind, pressed an unknown weapon in her back and robbed her of her coat and purse, all valued at $406.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- Someone kicked in the door of a home in the 4500 block of Kathland Ave. and stole a television set and other property, all valued at $930.

BURGLARY: Northwestern District -- A house in the 4400 block )) of Wentworth Road was burglarized when someone removed a glass window pane in the front door, reached in and unlocked it, then stole a $125 TV set.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- Someone broke a window at a house in the 3100 block of N. Calvert St. and stole a stereo receiver, a tape player and a compact disc player, all valued at $450.

ROBBERY: Northern District -- A man with a handgun entered the Golden Star restaurant in the 3600 block of Greenmount Ave. late Monday and took $100 from the cash register.

BURGLARY: Northern District -- A 19-year-old man who lives in the 2700 block of Boone St. told police someone kicked in his rear door and stole a 25-inch color television set valued at $444.

LARCENY: Northern District -- A 1990 Volkswagen parked in the 2200 block of Deerfern Crescent was broken into early yesterday. Audio cassettes and a jacket were stolen.

LARCENY: Northern District -- A 23-year-old woman who was shopping for dresses in the 5700 block of Newbury St. told police that someone stole $80 from her purse while she was trying on clothes.

LARCENY: Northern District -- A bird bath valued at $185 was stolen from the rear lawn of a home in the 5300 block of Falls Road between 1:45 p.m. and 2:50 p.m. yesterday.

LARCENY: Southern District -- A leather jacket valued at $500 was stolen from a car in the 1300 block of Hollins St. after someone forced open a window.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A rear door at Valley Proteins Inc., in the 1500 block of Open St., was forced open and tires and rims valued at $955 were stolen.

LARCENY/ARREST: Southern District -- A woman was taken into custody after she attempted to take almost $100 worth of items from New York Fashions, a store in the 1200 block of Light St.

LARCENY: Southern District -- C&P; Telephone Co. reported that someone stole one of its public pay phones from the 4800 block of Curtis Ave.

BURGLARY: Southern District -- A videocassette recorder oundetermined value was taken from a home in the 400 block of S. Vincent St. after someone broke a window and entered.

ROBBERY: Southern District -- Ricky Carter, of the 1700 block oLemmon St., was walking in the 1800 block of W. Pratt St. with a bag of submarine sandwiches when someone struck him and took the sandwiches away from him.

ROBBERY TRY: Southern District -- Four juveniles were arrested after they attempted to beat up another youth and steal his bicycle.

ROBBERY TRY: Southern District -- JoAnne Clark told police she was in the 2700 block of Spelman Road about 8:40 p.m. yesterday when someone struck her with a gun and attempted to rob her. However, she resisted and nothing was taken.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Two men hailed a Royal Cab in the 700 block of Ashburton St., showed the driver a handgun and a sawed-off shotgun, then took the cab and a cash box with $60 in it. The cab was recovered minutes later in the 2800 block of Brighton St.

ROBBERY TRY: Western District -- Keyser Cullen told police he was walking in the 1300 block of N. Fremont Ave. when a man approached him with a .45-caliber handgun and demanded his money. Cullen said he didn't have any, and the would-be robber left him alone.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Alice Smoot, of the 2500 block of McKinley Ave., told police she was beaten by a man she knows in the 900 block of N. Gilmor St. Her front teeth were knocked out during the attack.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Jason Ellison told police he was on his way home from a bar in the 1500 block of Laurens St. when four juveniles jumped into his car and took his wallet.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Someone entered a building in the 1100 block of W. Lafayette Ave. through a side window and stole metal surgical instruments valued at $1,583.

BURGLARY: Western District -- Four stained glass windows valued at $2,500 were taken from a building in the 2300 block of Harlem Ave.

ROBBERY: Western District -- Three men with sawed-off shotguns robbed Ephram Morgan of $65 in the 2500 block of Eutaw Place.

BURGLARY: Western District -- A color television set valued at $500 was stolen from a residence in the 2500 block of Eutaw Place. Police said the method of entry was not known.

ASSAULT: Western District -- Raymond Hope, address unavailable, was in good condition at University of Maryland Medical Center after being stabbed with a hunting knife in his back and abdomen. Hope told police he knows his attacker.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- A driver for Pizz-A-Boli's was held up while making a delivery in the 4800 block of Windsor Mill Road. The driver told police a man placed a hard object in his back and demanded money and pizzas.

BURGLARY: Southwestern District -- A house in the 4100 block of Walrad St. was ransacked after someone forced open the back door. The owners have not been able to determine what, if anything, was taken, police said.

ROBBERY: Southwestern District -- Ross Hutchins, of the 300 block of Font Hill Ave., told police he was robbed of $1,498 in cash and property after he was threatened near his home by an unarmed person.

BREAK-IN: Southwestern District -- The rear door at the Twilight Social Club, 3200 block of Frederick Road, was forced open and beer and soda valued at $1,255 were stolen over the weekend.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- The city Department of Education reported that materials valued at $169 were taken from a storage facility in the 2800 block of St. Lo Drive.

LARCENY: Northeastern District -- Someone broke into a trailer at Three Rivers Trucking Inc., in the the 6700 block of Quad Ave., and stole property valued at $2,800.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Property valued at $2,280 was taken from a home in the 2700 block of Tivoly Ave. after someone broke a kitchen window.

ROBBERY: Northeastern District -- A woman holding a syringe robbed the 7-Eleven store in the 2900 block of Harford Road and escaped with an undetermined amount of cash.

BURGLARY: Northeastern District -- Burglars forced open the side door of a home in the 1300 block of E. 36th St. and stole a television set and jewelry, all valued at $950.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- A man with a semiautomatic handgun robbed Irvin's grocery store in the 1200 block of E. Fayette St. of $700 in cash.

ROBBERY: Southeastern District -- When an employee at Key Warehouse Inc. in the 4000 block of Dillon St. tried to stop a man from stealing boxes of shoes, the man brandished a knife at him and escaped with the shoes, of undetermined value.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A man was seen removing a board from a basement window and entering a house in the 100 block of N. Streeper St. Stolen were a vanity, a stained glass window and two power saws, all valued at $680.

BURGLARY: Southeastern District -- A burglar forced open the front door of a home in the 3100 block of E. Baltimore St., stealing $260 in cash and $680 worth of video games, videocassettes and other items.

Baltimore County

ROBBERY: Towson District -- Two men in a stolen white Chrysler robbed the Fotomat in the 900 block of Taylor Ave. of $120 yesterday afternoon. The men drove up, pointed a silver handgun at the saleswoman and told her to put the money in a plastic bag. They drove off but a Baltimore County police officer pursued by into the city along the Alameda. After a minor traffic accident, the robbers abandoned the car and escaped on foot.

ROBBERY: The 7-Eleven store at Md. 648 and Ferndale Avenue was robbed of undisclosed cash early yesterday by a man wearing a blue, hooded sweat shirt. The man pressed an unknown object in the back of a clerk and demanded the money in the cash register, then fled on foot.
