George Smith

George Smith, a retired cement truck driver, died Saturday of pneumonia at University Hospital. He was 71 and lived for many years on North Fulton Avenue.

Services for Mr. Smith will be held at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Cornerstone Church of Christ, 4239 Park Heights Ave.

The Baltimore native retired about 15 years ago from Alan E. Barton Inc., the Odenton company where he had worked since his graduation from the Carver Vocational-Technical High School.

At the Cornerstone Church of Christ, he had been president of the senior usher board and a volunteer driver.

He is survived by his wife, the former Lessie Anderson; a daughter, Ollie Mae Davis of Baltimore; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
