Misty Harbor facility is sold

The David Edward Co., manufacturers of seating and tables, has announced its intention to purchase the Misty Harbor distribution center at 1407 Parker Road and convert the 125,000-square-foot building into a manufacturing plant.

David Pitts, executive vice president of David Edward, said the company has signed a letter of intent to purchase the facility, and expects to go to settlement in May. David Edward could move into the facility in July.

Pitts said the cost of acquiring and renovating the 30-year-old building will be about $2.5 million. Marylyn Miller of Baltimore has been hired as the interior designer.

About 25 employees work at the Misty Harbor building. The building has been on the market for about a year after Misty Harbor was sold to Global Clothing, a Chicago-based company that has said it wants to consolidate its facilities.

The David Edward Co. currently is located in a 32,000-square-foot facility at 3501 Marmenco Court in Baltimore County. The company also operates a plant in Red Line, Pa.
