Travel plans

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Fear of terrorism caused both domestic and international travel to drop sharply after the Persian Gulf War began on Jan. 17.

Of 219 readers of The Evening Sun and other callers to Sundial, 75 or 34 percent said they altered their travel plans this year because of the war or the recession.

Now that the war is over, 36 of 182 callers, or 19 percent, said their travel plans for this year will change as a result.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically, as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
