More than 1,000 carnations were donated by Sam Kemp, owner of Cedar Hill Florist in Brooklyn Park, to nurses and other health-care providers at Harbor Hospital Center.

John Simpkins, a member of HHC's maintenance department, volunteered his time to present the carnations to staff members. Kemp donated the flowers to show his appreciation for HHC's community support.
