Michael S. Flanigan Traffic engineer


A Mass of Christian burial for Michael S. Flanigan, a traffic engineer for Baltimore County, will be offered at 11 a.m. today at St. Alphonsus Rodriguez Roman Catholic Church in Woodstock.

Mr. Flanigan, who was 51 and

had lived in Marriottsville for the past 15 years, died Thursday at the Howard County General Hospital of complications to kidney disease.

He had worked for Baltimore County for 24 years and earlier was a traffic engineer for Baltimore City.

Born in Baltimore, he was a graduate of the Polytechnic Institute and had attended the University of Maryland at College Park, Loyola College and the Johns Hopkins University.

At Poly, he had been a member of the rifler team, and he continued to shoot a .30-caliber rifle in competitions.

He is survived by a sister, Anne K. Flanigan of Marriottsville; three brothers, William Flanigan of Marriottsville and Timothy and Dennis Flanigan, both of Fallston; and four nephews and a niece.

The family suggested contributions to the Maryland Kidney Foundation.
