Thomas V. Edwards Armored truck driver

A memorial service for Thomas V. Edwards, a retired armored truck driver for Purolator Security Inc., will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow at St. John's of Hamilton United Methodist Church, Harford Road and Gibbons Avenue.

Mr. Edwards, who was 66, died Feb. 20 of complications to diabetes at his home on Harford Road in Hamilton.

He retired about four years ago after driving for Purolator since 1969.

Until 1958, Mr. Edwards was a member of the Salvage Corps, which protected burning buildings and their contents for fire insurance companies. He was a driver for the chief of the corps when it was disbanded.

Before taking a job with Purolator, he was a driver salesman for the Green Spring Dairy and a member of the private fire department of what is now the Martin Marietta Corp.

He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Laning.

The family suggested contributions to St. Johns of Hamilton United Methodist Church.
