Navy's men's fencing team set a school record for most wins in a season with 14 this past weekend when it closed out its regular season with wins over William & Mary, 20-7, Air Force, 19-8, North Carolina State, 21-6, and North Carolina, 14-13.

Senior Paul Hanover set a school record for most wins in a season as he finished 47-8 after going 11-0 in epee in the four meets this past weekend.

Senior Art Glasgow set a Naval Academy career record for individual bout victories with 103 after going 9-1 in foil this past weekend.He was 42-15 for this past season. Peter Twining was 8-4 in the weekend competition and finishes the season with a 25-30 record in saber.

The Mids have qualified all three weapons teams for the NCAA Qualifier this coming weekend at Montgomery County Community College nearPhiladelphia, Pa. In addition, six individuals have qualified for this new event -- Hanover, Glasgow, Thomas Chung, Marc Hone, Corey Garrett and David Brett-Major.

The Mids women's fencing team finished its regular season by going 1-2 this past weekend, defeating Air Force, 10-6, while losing to North Carolina, 12-8, and to North Carolina State,8-8, (State winning on touches).

Junior Amy Lawless had six wins on the day, including a 3-0 showing against Air Force. Bonnie Roberts notched seven wins on the day and was 4-0 against Air Force.
