John Daly, 77, who covered World War II for CBS radio but was better known as a popular television game show host, was found dead of cardiac arrest Monday at his home in Chevy Chase. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Mr. Daly worked as a correspondent and news analyst for CBS radio from 1937 to 1949. In the 1940s he reported from the Middle East and Italy. In the 1950s he moved to the American Broadcasting Corp., where he was vice president in charge of news, special events and public affairs. However, his popularity was secured as host of the game show "What's My Line." In the late 1960s, he served as director of the Voice of America. His wife, Virginia, who survives him, is the daughter of late Supreme Court Chief Justice Earl Warren.
