* OUTLOOK: The Skipjacks (31-27-5) are mired in their worst slump of the season, going 0-4-2 the past six games. Tyler Larter and Mark Ferner have been hobbled by injuries, but both could start in tonight's game. Defenseman Kent Paynter played for Washington in New Jersey last night but could return here tonight. Jim Hrivnak remains with the Caps in New York so Olaf Kolzig and Shawn Simpson are the Jacks' goalies. The Red Wings (26-28-10) also are slumping, losing four of their last five and seven of 10.
