Dr. N. Edward Nachlas is reappointed chief of otolaryngology head and neck surgery at Baltimore County General Hospital. He is an assistant professor of otolaryngology head and neck surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Medical Institutions and a clinical assistant professor at the University of Maryland.

At Fallston General Hospital, William Hunter is named director of imaging services. He has nearly 25 years experience in radiologic technology, including 18 years as chief technologist at Franklin Square Hospital.

Dr. Panayiotis Sitaris, neurosurgeon, is named president of Fallston's medical staff for the 1991 term. Dr. Clarence Gehris will serve as president elect, Dr. Frederick Walker, treasurer and Dr. Scott Haswell will serve as secretary.

Elected to serve two year terms are Dr. Andrew Nowakowski, Department of Medicine; Dr. Roger Schneider, Department of Surgery, and Dr. Ronald Cann, Department of Psychiatry.


David L. Joffe is named director of sales for Darda Inc. U.S.A., a manufacturer of toys and motorized race cars for toddlers and preschool children. He joined Life-Like Products Inc., the marketing arm of Darda, 10 years ago, and in addition to his new position will serve as national sales manager of the Life-Like glider line.


Scott Robertson is named assistant account executive for the Baltimore-based public relations and accounting firm of SmithMead & Goldberg. He will be responsible for working with the news media, writing feature stories and news releases, and generating media coverage for a variety of clients. He was previously an intern for the firm.

At Campbell-Ginn & Associates, Bill Rubacky is named account executive. He was previously an account executive for Earle Palmer Brown in Washington, where he worked on accounts such as USAir, Most and Freddie Mac.

Brian Hall is promoted to vice president account supervisor, and Maribeth Aumiller is promoted to assistant account executive for the firm. Lawrence R. Townsley is promoted to vice president and division officer for the First National Bank of Maryland's Administrative Services Division. His responsibilities include purchasing, productivity management, forms, procedures and records management and cost/benefit analysis.

Townsley, who has worked at the bank for 15 years, previously served as an operations analyst and management services department head. George J. Bachrach, a partner at Baltimore's Whiteford, Taylor & Preston law firm, has received the American Bar Association's Fidelity and Surety "Private Practitioner of the Year" award for 1990 in recognition of his contributions to the Fidelity and Surety Law Committee of the association.

He is a specialist on surety and bankruptcy law and has been at the firm since 1974.

Tom Hicks, deputy chief engineer of the Maryland State Highway Administration, has received the National Safety Award for over 30 years of efforts to improve the safety of the nation's highways. Patricia T. Ruxton is appointed director of the Children's Center at Dundalk Community College. She is responsible for ensuring quality care for the approximately 156 children enrolled in the center, as well as overseeing a staff of 14 teachers, aids, group leaders and nutritionists.

She was previously director of the Northeastern YMCA Child Care Center, where she opened, staffed and marketed the 40-child facility. A certified preschool teacher, she has also taught at St. John's Preschool and St. David's Nursery. Michael G. Murphy is named assistant manager of Hamburgers' downtown location. He joins the company from Jos. A. Bank, where he served in sales management for 17 years.

At Marson Galleries Ltd. in Cross Keys, John E. Marsiglia is appointed gallery director. Stephanie Potocki is named sales representative.

On the board:

John G. Moran, president of Household Bank Eastern Division, joins the Baltimore Goodwill Industries Inc. board of governors. Goodwill serves as a vocational training and employment agency for disabled and disadvantaged persons throughout the central Maryland region.
