LACHMAN IS CHOSEN OFFICER OF THE YEAR

Detective Lee Lachman, a 4 -year veteran of the Howard County policeforce, has been chosen as 1990 officer of the year. The police commendation board selected Lachman after reviewing six nominations.

Lachman has been assigned to the criminal investigations bureau since December 1988. Lachman has also been recognized by the Howard County Exchange Club and Howard County Chamber of Commerce as the county's top officer.

Lachman will be joined by 40 other police officers and citizens who will be recognized for their achievements and outstanding service to the community.

The ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, March 1, in the Banneker Room, George Howard Building. It is open to thepublic.
