Woodlawn clinches first, 61-54 Girls basketball


Woodlawn clinched first place in the Baltimore County 3A-4A League with a 61-54 girls basketball victory over host Catonsville yesterday.

The Warriors (18-1, 18-1) advance to the county championship game Saturday at 2 p.m. against either Towson or Loch Raven at a site to be determined.

Towson and Loch Raven are tied for first in the 1A-2A League. Woodlawn coach Mary Duckworth said a vote by the other county coaches not involved will decide on which team advances.

Junior guard Glenda Major led Woodlawn with 20 points and 10 assists. Kim Davis added 16 and eight rebounds, and Erin Graham scored 14.
