Concert Artists of Baltimore need volunteers to help with several fund-raisers, the newsletter, ushering, ticket sales, mailings and in acquiring grants. Call Katie Stevens, 235-2138.


Maryland Science Center is asking for volunteers to greet school groups, give demonstrations, assist in the store, clerical assistance and to greet visitors. Call 685-2370, Ext. 345.

Jewish Family Services wants volunteers to drive and accompany clients to medical appointments and other essential destinations. Call 466-9200, Ext. 244 or 296.


Jewish Vocational Service wants tutors to teach Russian immigrants conversational English. Knowledge of Russian not required. Call 466-3300.

Woodbourne, a non-profit child-care facility for children and families with emotional disabilities, is holding its first phonathon on the evenings of March 25 and 26. Volunteers are needed for phoning, sorting and billing. Call 433-1000, Ext. 205.

Baltimore City Foster Care Review Board wants volunteers to review the cases of children who have been in foster care for six months or more. There are 27 vacancies and a great need for concerned men and women. Call 554-5797.

Hospice Services of Howard County wants volunteer care-givers for an at-home care program and for the in-patient setting at Bon Secours Hospital Care Facility in Ellicott City. A 26-hour training period for care-givers begins April 12. Call 461-5530.

Franklin Square Hospital wants volunteers to help with maternity admissions, the auxiliary's gift cart, as nursing assistant or in the billing department. Volunteers get many fringe benefits. A three-month, four-hour shift per week is asked. Call 682-7240.

The Depression and Related Affective Disorders Association (DRADA) will sponsor a talk on "Medication for Depressive and Manic-Depressive Illnesses," at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Johns Hopkins Hospital Wilmer Eye Institute, Room 107. Call 955-4647 for details.

Maryland Lawyers for the Arts Inc. wants volunteers to handle grant applications, administrative and office work. Also the MLA needs donations of computer and equipment. Details: Diane Davison, 752-1633.

United Way 1991 Volunteer Directory will be printed this month. It is a 35-page directory that will list hundreds of volunteer opportunities in Central Maryland. The Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. and Signet Bank contributed to its printing. The directory will be available upon request. Call 659-0050.
