Lloyd E. Gales, 56, a retired U.S. Air Force technical sergeant, died Tuesday at Loch Raven Veterans Hospital after a 10-year illness.
Services for Mr. Gales, of Woodlawn, were being held today at the Baptist City Temple of Baltimore, at Eutaw and Dolphin streets.
He served 22 years in the Air Force, most of them abroad, before retiring in the mid-1970s. He worked for four years in Saudi Arabia as a supply manager for the Lockheed Corp. before returning to the United States in 1979.
Mr. Gales was a native of Baltimore and attended Dunbar High School, completing his secondary education in the military.
Surviving are a son, Lloyd E. Gales 2nd; his mother, Sallie Miller; ,, two sisters, Juanita G. Morton and Yvonne G. Mitchell; two brothers, Franklin M. Gales and Norman Miller; and a grandson, Desmond, all of Baltimore.
