Harriette Shelton Dover, 86, a former chairwoman of the Tulalip Indians and a leading interpreter of American Indian culture, died of cancer last week in Marysville, Wash.

Jim Jacoby, 58, one of the world's greatest bridge players, dieFriday of cancer at a Dallas hospital. Mr. Jacoby, who lived in Richardson, Texas, won the first of his 16 national titles in 1955 at the age of 22. He was in constant demand throughout his career as a professional partner and teammate and at his death was the fifth-ranked U.S. player in career master points.
