Coppin State tops Florida A&M;, 81-71

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- First-place Coppin State (15-8, 11-1) spotted Florida A&M; (10-11, 7-5) a 7-2 lead, but a 14-2 run fueled by Larry Stewart and Reggie Isaac took care of that, and the Eagles breezed to an 81-71 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win last night.

This was the 11th straight triumph for Coppin State, which won it at the foul line, making 26 of 27. The Rattlers converted 15 of 23.

Stewart finished with 23 points and 11 rebounds in 39 minutes, and Isaac added 29 points. The Eagles ended shooting 50 percent from the field to 40 percent for A&M.; Their widest lead was 60-40, but the home team climbed back within 78-69 inside the last two minutes.
