Geraldine Neale Secretary, volunteer


A Mass of Christian burial for Geraldine Jorgensen Neale, a retired secretary and volunteer, will be offered at 9 a.m. today at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, Mount Royal and Lafayette avenues.

Mrs. Neale, who was 75, died of cancer Wednesday at her home in the Versailles Apartments.

She moved to Towson in 1989 with her husband of 51 years, James Francis Neale Jr. Mr. Neale, who retired as head of the Buffalo, N.Y., office of the Fidelity and Deposit Co. of Maryland, is descended from 17th-century settlers in Charles County.

The former Geraldine Jorgensen was born in Detroit and graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Grosse Pointe, Mich.

She retired as executive secretary for an adult education program, the Board of Cooperative Educational Services, in Buffalo. Also in Buffalo, she had been a member of the board of the Nottingham Academy, an officer of parents' clubs for two other schools, a member of a neighborhood association and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas Matthews Neale of Ruxton, Army Col. James Francis Neale of Weathersfield, Conn., and John Cox Neale of Westborough, Mass.; two daughters, Ann Neale of Wilmington, Del., and Lucy Beall Neale of Alexandria, Va.; and nine grandchildren.
