Ms. Abramson, who was 81, had moved recently from the Lochearn area to the North Oaks Retirement Community in Pikesville. She retired in 1971 as head librarian at the Garrison Junior High School, a post she had held since 1943. She began teaching in Baltimore schools in 1928.

The Baltimore native graduated from Western High School, attended Goucher College and graduated from what is now Towson State University.

She is survived by a nephew, Alan Abramson of Reisterstown; and two grandnephews.

A memorial service for Ms. Abramson was held Sunday by the Ethical Society of Baltimore, of which she was a member. The family suggested memorial contributions to the society at 11 Beacon Hill Road in Woodlawn.
