Little confidence

THE BALTIMORE EVENING SUN

Nearly two-thirds of callers to The Evening Sun's SUNDIAL are not confident that Vice President Dan Quayle could lead the nation in the war with Iraq if something happened to President Bush.

Of 917 callers yesterday, 322, or 35 percent, felt confident in Quayle's ability to lead the nation in war. But 595, or 65 percent, were not confident.

"It's Your Call" represents a sampling of opinions from certain segments of the community, but it is not balanced demographically as would be done in a scientific public opinion poll.
