Murphy's 3-pointers lift Mount 30-point effort beats Wagner, 86-74


NEW YORK -- Senior Scott Murphy set a Northeast Conference record with 10 three-point field goals to lead Mount St. Mary's (8-13, 6-5) to an 86-74 Northeastern Conference triumph over Wagner (3-20, 1-11) last night.

Murphy, who also tied his school record with the 10 three-pointers, had 21 second-half points, as the Mount pulled away in the final minutes. The three-pointers accounted for all of his 30 points. Billy Kurisko had 30 points for Wagner.

A three-pointer by Murphy gave the Mount the lead for good at 55-54 with 10 minutes, 48 seconds remaining. Wagner would remain within a basket at 59-57 when Murphy hit yet another three-pointer to spark a seven-point run that iced the game.
