* OUTLOOK: This begins a five-day span in which the Greyhounds will play three home games against Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foes. Loyola (9-11) is 2-7 in the MAAC, a half-game ahead of last-place Canisius (8-12, 2-8). Canisius, which gets 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds from junior forward Harry Seymour, has lost four straight in the MAAC, where the Greyhounds are working on a two-game win streak. Loyola is coming off of an emotional 85-84 win at Towson State, where Kevin Green raised his scoring average to 21.7 with a game-high 28.
UMBC VS. CENTRAL CONNECTICUT * WHEN: Tonight, 7:35.
* WHERE: UMBC Fieldhouse.
* RADIO: WITH-AM 1230.
* OUTLOOK: Both teams have struggled in their first season in the East Coast Conference. UMBC (2-19) is 1-6 in the ECC, but it has been bolstered of late by the return from illness of senior forward Derrick Reid, who's averaging 14.3 points and 7.3 rebounds. Central Connecticut (3-17) is 1-5 in the ECC. The Blue Devils have slowed down the pace in recent weeks, but they are still scoring 85.2 points a game and allowing 98.8. Junior forward Obet Vazquez leads the ECC with a 23.1 average.
UMES VS. BOSTON COLLEGE * WHEN: Tonight, 7:30.
* WHERE: Conte Forum, Boston.
* OUTLOOK: Both teams are cellar-dwellers, although UMES (4-16) is 2-8 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, while Boston College (10-11) is 1-8 in the Big East. The Eagles are getting a solid season from Doug Able, a senior forward from Calvert Hall who's averaging a team-leading 11.6 points and 5.0 rebounds. UMES, which has lost six straight, relies on sophomore forward Leland Kent.
