C. Clayland Price Jr. Retired naval officer


Services for C. Clayland Price Jr., who had been a farm owner and a naval officer, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Christ Episcopal Church in Stevensville.

Mr. Price, who was 72 and lived in Stevensville, died Sunday at the Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.

He had owned a farm in the Stevensville area since leaving the Navy in 1948 as a lieutenant who had served in both the Mediterranean and the Pacific during World War II.

A native of Stevensville, he was a graduate of Stevensville High School and the American University.

Mr. Price was a former treasurer of Christ Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, the former Louise Mitchell Davidson; three sons, Tilghman E., Geoffrey M. and Charles C. Price III, all of Stevensville; four daughters, Patrice P. Preston and Pamela P. Sawyer, both of Baltimore, Carole Frederick of Stevensville and Daena P. Feldman of Annapolis; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the Arthritis Foundation or to the Katie Feldman Memorial Fund for Children, named for his late granddaughter, at P.O. Box 592 in Stevensville.
