Players of the Week



Herman Costley, who has ranked as one of the area's leading basketball scorers all season, led Westminster to two victories last week to earn The Sun's Player of the Week honor. Costley, a 6-foot-4 senior, had 32 points and 14 rebounds against Thomas Johnson and 30 points and 12 rebounds vs. Seneca Valley.


Although Western's 42-game winning streak ended Saturday, Doves sophomore G Kisha Ford turned in three solid performances last week to earn The Sun's Player of the Week honor. Ford, 6 feet, averaged 22.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 5.0 steals in wins over Northwestern (75-9) and Forest Park (104-17) and a loss to Cardinal O'Hara (64-61).

Note: Player of the Week nominations may be made by calling 332-6200 on Sundays between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The caller must supply statistics in all games for which the athlete is being nominated. The player must be available to have a picture taken Monday. Athletes in all sports are eligible.
