SEAMAN VANARSDALE COMPLETES TRAINING
Navy Seaman Recruit Charles F. Vanarsdale has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Ill.
During Vanarsdale's eight-week training cycle, his studies included seamanship, close order drill, naval history and first aid.
He is a graduate of Harford Vocational Technical High School in Bel Air.
WOODHOUSE FINISHES MARINE RECRUIT TRAINING
Private John P. Woodhouse has completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
During the 13-week training cycle, Woodhouse was taught the basics of battlefield survival and studied the personal and professional standards traditionally exhibited by Marines.
Woodhouse is the son of Terry L. Woodhouse of Aberdeen. He is a 1989 graduate of Landsdowne High School.
PVT. RAKES ASSIGNED TO SOUTH KOREA DUTY
Army Pvt. Shawn A. Rakes has been assigned to duty inSouth Korea.
Rakes is the son of Nancy C. Lohr and the stepson ofSgt. 1st Class Travis L. Dye of the 1900 block Edgewater Drive, Edgewood.
The private is a 1990 graduate of Harford Vocational-Technical High School.
MARINE TABELING RECEIVES PROMOTION
Marine Pfc. Richard J. Tabeling has been promoted to his present rank upon graduation from recruit training at Marine
Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego.
He received the promotion for his superior performance during all phases of the 13-week training cycle, which emphasized physical conditioning, self-discipline and teamwork.
Tabeling is a graduate of Havre de Grace High School. He joined the Marine Corps in August 1990.
JEPPI COMPLETES NAVY RECRUIT TRAINING
Navy Seaman Apprentice Anthony W. Jeppi has completed recruit training at Recruit Training Command, Orlando, Fla.
During Jeppi's eight-week training cycle, he studied general military subjects designed to prepare him for further academic and on-the-job training in one of the Navy's 85 basic fields.His studies included seamanship, close order drill, naval history and first aid.
Jeppi is a 1989 graduate of C. Milton Wright High School. He joined the Navy in October 1990.

PVT. GRADY COMPLETES MARINE RECRUIT TRAINING
Marine Pvt. Charles P. Grady has completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, S.C.
During the 13-week training cycle, Grady was taught the basics of battlefield survival. He participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills, including first aid, rifle marksmanship and close order drill. Teamwork and self-discipline were emphasized throughout the training cycle.
Grady is the son of Charles P. and Deborah A. Grady of Darlington. He is a graduate of Havre de Grace High School.
AIRMAN RECRUIT VINSON RETURNS FROM GULF DUTY
Navy Airman Recruit Mark W. Vinson recently returned from deployment to the Middle East in support ofOperation Desert Shield, where he served aboard the aircraft carrierUSS Independence, homeported in San Diego.
Vinson is a graduate of C. Milton Wright High School.
