A newly formed historical society has scheduled a 50t anniversary gala April 18-21 in Baltimore for the B-26 Marauder, a twin-engine bomber built at the Glenn L. Martin plant in Middle River.
Founders of the B-26 Historical Society are seeking those who flew the Marauders and former Martin employees who built the planes to join in the celebration, which will have its headquarters pTC at the Marriott Hotel.
A number of reunions of former Marauder crewmen from U.S. and foreign air forces will be held in conjunction with the anniversary celebration, according to Clarence E. Cyford of Owings Mills, who flew 72 missions over Europe in the 386th Bomb Group.
Information on the B-26 Historical Society and the anniversary gala can be obtained from society President George W. Parker, Box 1051, Columbia, Mo. 65205.
