Nursing home aide gets probation for assault
A nurse's aide has been sentenced to two years' probation for hitting an elderly woman at a Towson nursing home -- the latest in a series of patient-abuse cases prosecuted by the Maryland attorney general's office.
Cynthia Fulton, 25, of the 700 block of North Kenwood Avenue in East Baltimore, was found guilty of battery Wednesday by Baltimore County Circuit Judge Joseph F. Murphy.
But the judge sentenced her to probation before judgment so that the conviction will be erased from Ms. Fulton's record if she does not commit another offense during her probation.
The victim of the March 20 incident was an 87-year-old woman Ms. Fulton was tending at the Holly Hill Manor Nursing Home, authorities said.
