William W. Bryan Civil engineer

William W. Bryan, a designer for a consulting engineering company, died Tuesday of cancer at his home in the Homeland area.

Services for Mr. Bryan, who was 65, were held yesterday at the Ruck Towson Funeral Home.

He was a civil engineer for Harris, Smariga Matz Inc., for about two years and for 36 years before that worked for Matz, Childs and Associates.

A native of Baltimore, he was a 1941 graduate of the Polytechnic Institute.

After serving in the Navy during World War II, he attended St. John's College in Annapolis and also studied at the Johns Hopkins University.

He is survived by his wife, the former Jane V. Brothers; a daughter, Anne S. Bryan of Trumansburg, N.Y., two stepsons, William and Robert Bryan, both of Baltimore; and two grandchildren.

The family suggested contributions to the Hospice Program of Union Memorial Hospital.
