Two more parcels of land in the ongoing Carroll County Regional Airport expansion were bought by the county this week.
The county exercised an option to buy the 51.6-acre C. Elmer Fritz property along Littlestown Pike for $1.86 million. The county also expressed its intent to buy a .17-acre tract with a home owned by Margaret D. Rosenberger and Roland W. Broadfoot Sr. along Littlestown Pike for $85,000.
The two parcels brings to six the number of tracts bought for theairport expansion. The county needs to buy three more parcels beforeit can extend the airport's current 3,230-foot runway to 4,400 feet.
