Lavenia H. Sill Switchboard operator


Services for Lavenia Hagner Sill, a retired switchboard operator, will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow at Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home, Ritchie Highway at Robinson Road.

Mrs. Sill, who lived with her son in Ellicott City, died of a brain tumor Christmas Day at University Hospital. She was 78.

She retired in 1977 from the accounting department of the Southland Corp. in Baltimore, where she had worked for 15 years.

Mrs. Sill, formerly of Parkville, was born in Baltimore and attended public schools.

She is survived by her husband of more than five decades, Stevenson C. Sill; a son, S. Carroll Sill of Ellicott City; a sister, Rose Rickert of Pasadena; two brothers, James Hagner and Elmer Hagner, both of Annapolis; and six grandchildren.
