WESTMINSTER - Linda S. Harder has recently been appointed to the newly created position of vice president for planning and marketing at Carroll County General Hospital.

Recognizing the need to create a formal marketing department to better inform the public of hospital programs and services, the hosspital created the position to initiate and maintain a systematic marketing program as well as to augment and coordinate the CCGH public relations efforts and the work of the CCGH Foundation.

Among the functions of Carroll County General Hospital's Planning and Marketing department are strategic and program planning, medical staff development planning, and promotion of hospital programs and services.

Harder has a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and a master's degree in business from Boston University. She comes to CCGH with seven years of experience in planning and marketing in the health-care field.

Most recently, she was director of planning, marketing and program development at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Mass. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing and the Academy for Health Services Marketing.
