Single-family home sales in the Baltimore area declined 6 percent in September compared with a year ago.
According to the study released by Rufus S. Lusk & Son Inc., home sales dropped from 3,248 to 3,056 in September. Condominium sales dropped 18 percent from 494 in September 1989 to 406 in September 1990.
For the first nine months, single-family home sales decreased 1 percent from 28,825 in 1989 to 28,649 this year. Condominium sales during the period increased 7 percent from 3,810 to 4,074.
Median sale prices for single-family homes held steady during the first nine months, but dropped slightly in September. Condominium prices declined 3 percent during the first nine months, but rose 12 percent in September.
The median sale price for single family homes in September was $117,400. The median sale price for condominiums was $96,800.
