A Mass of Christian burial for the Rev. William G. Kelly, S.J., who had been a vice president of Loyola College and held other Jesuit posts in Baltimore, will be offered at 11 a.m. today at St. Therese Roman Catholic Church in Mooresville, N.C., where he had been pastor since 1982.
Father Kelly, 69, died Saturday after a stroke at the rectory in Mooresville.
He had moved to North Carolina in 1981 and at first served as director of campus ministry for the Diocese of Charlotte.
In 1979 and 1980, he was the superior at Manresa, the Jesuit retreat house on the Severn River near Annapolis. From 1977 to 1979, he was director of the Manresa Project, a study and fund-raising program.
He joined Loyola College's administration in 1966 as director of the Graduate Evening Division. He became academic vice president the next year and remained in the office until 1970.
Father Kelly had held administrative posts, including that of academic vice president, at the University of Scranton. He also had worked for St. Louis University, the U.S. Office of Education and Notre Dame University.
The native of Washington was a 1939 graduate of Gonzaga College High School there. He attended the St. Isaac Jogues novitiate of the Society of Jesus in Wernersville, Pa., St. Louis University and Woodstock College. He was ordained in 1952.
He is survived by a brother, John P. Kelly of Falls Church, Va.
Burial will be at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the Jesuit Community Cemetery at Georgetown University in Washington.
