William F. Adler is named president of PHH FleetAmerica, the U.S. vehicle management services subsidiary of PHH Corp.
He will be responsible for the operations of Avis Leasing and NTS, the corporation's other domestic vehicle management subsidiaries.
In his previous position of senior vice president of strategic resources for the corporation, he responsible for corporate human resources and corporate facilities management.
He will retain his title of corporate senior vice president. Adler joined the company in 1985 as vice president of human resources. Elizabeth Plunkett is appointed public relations assistant at The Good Samaritan Hospital of Maryland Inc. She will be responsible for writing press releases and newsletters and planning special events.
She was previously an editorial assistant at Patuxent Publishing Co.
At Howard County General Hospital, Steven S. Cohen is appointed senior vice president for operations. He was previously vice president for support services at Good Samaritan Hospital.
At CMC Inc., an operator of five Baltimore area occupational health centers, Judy A. Gleeson is appointed director of marketing and special programs.
She was previously a sales coordinator for the Industrial Rehabilitation Center, and medical manager for Intracorp. She has also worked as an occupational health nurse for Domino Sugar and Bethlehem Steel.
Cynthia Paella Martin announces the opening of her consulting business in biomedical and health-care communications. She has previous experience in healthcare writing and editing at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and CMG Health, a managed mental-health and substance-abuse treatment firm. Rose L. Cooper is named assistant vice president in Signet Bank's Trust and Financial Services Division. She will administer estates, trusts and investment management accounts in the Personal Trust Department. She held positions as a trust officer with banks in Washington, Philadelphia and Baltimore before joining Signet in 1987.
Monica V. Bates is promoted to branch officer for the bank's Walbrook location, where she manages daily activities. She joined Signet in 1986 as a management trainee.
At Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc., Laurence C. Baker is named research analyst specializing in conglomerate organizations. He previously held positions with Dillon, Read & Co. and E.F. Hutton, both in New York. He is a chartered financial analyst.
Denise Barnes-Renshaw is named sales manager for The Lodge at McDonogh Township, a 68-unit Chateau Builders condominium community. She was previously sales manager for Richmond American Homes.
Lucille Hughes Wagner is appointed director of alumni for Friends School of Baltimore. She will be responsible for the school's alumni and parents-of-alumni annual fund programs. She was previously associate director of development at St. Timothy's School in Stevenson.
Real estate attorney Bennett Gilbert Gaines joins Smith, Somerville & Case as a partner and chairman of its Real Estate Division.
He previously was partner and chairman of real estate and banking at Adelberg, Rudow, Dorf, Hendler & Sameth. He was with the firm for 17 years.
In addition to his general real estate practice, Gaines specializes in real estate tax assessment appeals and has a broad base of regional and national clients, including developers, lending institutions and property owners.
O. Bowie Arnot is appointed executive vice president of The Enterprise Development Co. He will be responsible for managing the company's development services activities.
Previously he was responsible for overseeing leasing activities for the company. He directed leasing at Liberty Place -- The Shops, a specialty retail center due to open next month in Philadelphia.
Prior to joining Enterprise, Arnot spent 10 years as a leasing and real estate agent for the Rouse Co. and other corporations. Bill Hodgson is promoted to vice president of production at Admiral Envelope & Printing Co. He has been with the company for 19 years, most recently as plant manager.
