A 19-year-old man died early yesterday after a gunfight that broke out between the occupants of two cars stopped at a traffic signal in Suitland.
Prince George's County police said Antonio Keith Brown, 19, whose address was unknown, was stopped about 1:30 a.m. on Silver Hill Road at the intersection of Suitland Road with three passengers in his car. As he waited at the light, Mr. Brown became involved in an argument with four occupants of a tan or peach Nissan, police said.
One of the four men in the Nissan produced a handgun and began firing at the car Mr. Brown was driving, who then pulled out a handgun and fired back, police said.
Mr. Brown was hit once in the chest and driven to Greater Southeast Community Hospital in Washington, where he was pronounced dead. None of Mr. Brown's passengers was injured, but police said they were unsure if any of the Nissan's passengers had been hit by gunfire.
In another Prince George's shooting early yesterday, a 20-year-old man was killed by an unidentified gunman outside Jimmy's Crab House in the 7200 block of Landover Road in Landover.
Prince George's police said Rodney Theodore White of Landover was approached outside the restaurant about 2 a.m. by the gunman. Witnesses heard one gunshot and saw the suspect running from the scene, but no one saw the shooting, police said.
