Grace M. Schmidt


Grace M. Schmidt, a retired Baltimore schoolteacher who was active in fraternal and religious groups, died Sunday at a retirement community in Raleigh, N.C., after an illness of several months. She was 87 and moved there in 1986.

Services for Mrs. Schmidt were being held today at Henry W. Jenkins & Sons funeral establishment, 4905 York Road.

She retired about 20 years ago as a teacher of special education classes in elementary schools after 30 years of service.

Her husband, Charles J. Schmidt, is the retired owner of the Riverside Pharmacy in South Baltimore.

She is survived by a daughter, Jeanne S. Munson of Raleigh; two sisters, Sue L. Pickering of Reisterstown and Eva M. Bocher of Towson; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
