Francis McGlannan


Francis M. McGlannan, retired owner of a janitorial chemicals distributing company, died Monday at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center of respiratory and circulatory illness. He was 78 and lived in the Elkridge Estates.

A mass of Christian burial for Mr. McGlannan was being said today at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, 5200 N. Charles St.

He retired 15 years ago as owner of Airkem Sales and Service of Maryland, which he started during the late 1940s.

He did volunteer work for the Travelers Aid Society at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

He is survived by two daughters, Molly McGlannan Lindner of Ann Arbor, Mich., and the Rev. Dorian McGlannan Cospito of Seattle; three sisters, Jane McGlannan Fisher of Essex, Martha McGlannan Henkel of Severna Park and Mary McGlannan Lynch of Lewes, Del.; a brother, Austin Joseph McGlannan of Easton and Coral Gables, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

The family suggested memorial contributions to the McGlannan Library at the Mercy Medical Center or to the Travelers Aid Society.
