Carol Baxter, crab house owner, dies


Services for Carol A. Baxter, owner of a crab house in Cecil County, will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the R.T. Ford Funeral Home, 111 S. Queen St. in Rising Sun.

Mrs. Baxter, who lived on Harrington Road in Rising Sun, died of cancer Saturday at Harford Memorial Hospital.

She was 35.

Born in L'Anse, Mich., the former

Carol Griffor graduated from high school there.

In 1972 she and her husband moved to Baltimore and settled in the Hampden area.

The couple later moved to Cecil County, where they ran a Conowingo restaurant called the Little Crab House.

Mrs. Baxter was a member, along with her husband, of the ImprovedOrder of Redmen and loved camping and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, John J. Baxter; two daughters, Angelia R. and Nichole L. Baxter of Rising Sun; her parents, William G. and Agnes Griffor of Marine City, Mich.; two brothers, David Griffor of Marine City and Mark Griffor of Sacramento, Calif.; and a sister, Rose Schindler of St. Clair, Mich.
