Services for Ellen "Betsy" Davis, a former home economics teacher, will be held at 11 a.m. today at Second Presbyterian Church, 4200 St. Paul St., where she was a deacon and taught Sunday school.
Mrs. Davis died Saturday at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Towson after a long battle with cancer. She was 65.
Born in Bedford, N.Y., the former Ellen Ross graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor's degree in home economics and earned a master's degree in education at what is now Towson State University.
She came to Baltimore in 1947 after marrying Joseph Franklin Davis, who died in 1982. During her years here, she worked on and off teaching home economics in Baltimore public schools.
Mrs. Davis was active in a wide variety of organizations. She was a past president of the Cornell Club of Baltimore and past president of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Association of Baltimore.
Mrs. Davis is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Bonner of Raleigh, N.C.; two sons, Kent Davis of Crownsville and Richard Davis of Pasadena; a sister, Mary Louise Henrich, and a brother, John Ross, both of Lakeview, N.Y.
