Baltimore Police arrested and charged a man with first-degree murder Monday in connection to the Saturday killing of a 27-year-old man in Baltimore’s Bayview neighborhood.
Police believe a 36-year-old man shot and killed Jeremy Maldonado on Saturday following a dispute during a gathering on the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue. A second man, 29, was shot during the altercation. He is expected to survive.
After the shooting, detectives arrested and interviewed the 36-year-old suspect in the 400 block of Drew Street, a short walk from where the shooting occurred. He is being held at Central Booking Intake Facility on first-degree murder charges. His charges were not available on online court records Monday.
Police officers were patrolling the 5900 block of Eastern Avenue at about 4:24 p.m. when they heard gunshots and found Maldonado suffering from several life-threatening gunshot wounds. He died shortly after being taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, police said. Police later located the second victim.
On Sunday evening, a 19-year-old was shot and killed in the Seton Hill neighborhood, according to Baltimore Police.
Police responded at 8:39 p.m. to the 500 block of Orchard Street in Central Baltimore and found the teen, whom police later identified as K’mauri Ebanks, suffering from “numerous life-threatening gunshot wounds.” He was taken to Shock Trauma, where he died.
