Traffic: Accident on Crain Hwy. near Thelma Ave.

As of 9 a.m. Monday, traffic was slow on Crain Highway near Thelma Avenue in Baltimore City, due to an accident.

Accidents were slowing traffic on Washington Boulevard near Whiskey Bottom Road in Anne Arundel County, Baker Street near Mount Street in Baltimore City, and Route 136 near Fountain Green Road in Bel Air.

Amtrak is warning Acela Express and Northeast Regional travelers that service to and from New York City is subject to delays while repairs are underway following last week's storm. Amtrak says both Acela Express and Northeast Regional service will operate with reduced frequency on Monday between Washington and Boston. Amtrak recommends that passengers make reservations by phone or online to avoid sold out trains and long lines at ticket offices. The phone reservation number is 800-USA-RAIL.

In Baltimore City, Monument Street is closed between Wolfe Street and Patterson Park Avenue in East Baltimore, due to sinkhole repairs. Maryland Transit Administration bus 35 has been diverted.

There are no major delays reported on area transit systems.
