Laurel TV wins Telly Award for promo

Laurel TV won a Telly Award for a series of promotional videos featuring iconic landmarks and local residents and leaders.

The promo, called "This is My Laurel," displays residents and leaders proclaiming the phrase. The promo won the Bronze Award, second place. The Telly Awards are given to local and regional cable commercials and programming, as well as web videos.

This year the Telly Award competition received more than 12,000 entries, according to its website.

In a news release, Laurel Mayor Craig Moe praised the work of Communications Director Audrey Barnes and others for the award

Barnes, a former television news reporter, was hired in March 2014 to revamp the station

"I am so proud of the work Audrey and the entire staff of Laurel TV is doing," Moe said. "The community is really responding to the new programming. This Telly Award is further confirmation of the successful rebirth of Laurel TV."
