Personal and home safety are important ingredients of a stress-free summer. Recently some local residents reported being pestered by aggressive solicitors purporting to be selling security systems as representatives of the Honeywell company. That company manufactures parts for security systems, but does not do door-to-door sales. Recently in the Knoxville, Tenn., area, people who had been visited by these "sales people" were later burglarized. To report this type of suspicious activity, call the Prince George's Public Safety Dispatch Center's non-emergency number, 301-352-1200, if the activity is currently in progress. You can also contact the Prince George's Crime Stoppers Hotline Anonymous Tip Line: 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). Home security is definitely important. Our District VI police station can do home safety inspections, with recommendations for upgrade and improvement.Call 301-937-0910 for more information.
